Well, it's been a bit of a stormy week or so since Jalen and I got back to Tennessee. He is now 15 weeks old (!) and of course, changing all the time. Since we got home, he's been quite fussy, grumpy, whiney.... Is it his teeth?? Is he spoiled?? Does his belly hurt?? So many questions... However, the past 2 or 3 days have been good-mood days for him, and hopefully that spell is over.
So, with the teething, he's been slobbering and sucking on his hands for probably 2 months. But he's now trying to chew on anything he can be lucky enough to manuver into his mouth; mostly burp rags (eww) and his thumb. We occasionally try other chew toys and refrigerated teethers, but he doesn't quite have those figured out. He licks the cold ones instead of chewing.
With the spoiled thing, we've been sitting him down in his bouncy seat, or floor, or stroller, whatever and trying to make him feel comfortable with entertaining himself for short periods, because "Mommy holds him too much". Right now he's sitting in his bouncy watching "The Penguins of Madagascar" cartoon while I type, kicking his legs like crazy, squealing at the tv. I don't want a spoiled kid any more than the next guy, but which is worse - a baby who needs to be held all the time, or a couch potato tv junkie? It's a lot of pressure knowing that behaviors are being molded and habits formed every day of his little baby life.
He loves to be outside, and we go for walks almost every day. He usually falls asleep in the stroller. We go down to the park in our neighborhood and swing, and we went down the slide the other day. I don't think Jalen was quite as excited as Mommy was! He definitely sees Mace now, although he still doesn't seem to care one way or the other about him. Even when Mace is all up in his face trying to lick lotion off of him. Mace doesn't really seem to have feelings about Jalen either, other than he tries to sit as close to him as possible so we might accidentally pet him instead of play with J.
We had Jalen's 3 month pictures made last weekend. I should get those in maybe another week. As always, I'm anticipating great shots! And in a few weeks it will be time again for another round of those awful vaccinations!
This is a perfect example of my favorite face!!
