Jalen has really gotten into a reading phase in the past few weeks. He started bringing one book, the dreaded "Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See?", to us so he could watch as we turned the pages, naming all the animals. He then would proceed to whine unless we immediately turned back to the front of the book and started over. Then for some reason, I checked out two more versions of the book with different animals from the library. It didn't take long before these books were all hid in various crevices of the loveseat and behind pillows.A couple of weeks later, he is more open to all kinds of books and doesn't throw a fit when we finish reading it. In fact, he rarely sticks around for more than a couple pages. But it is so cute when he walks up to you, hands you a book, and turns around and plops down in your lap!
He is talking all the time, although you don't know what he's saying most of the time. He says Mom, Dad, bub, diaper, nana (banana), shoes, tank ooo (thank you), and of course, no and uh oh. We just realized a couple days ago that if we say, "let's go get in the tub", he walks to the bathroom; and when we say, "time to go night night", he grabs his blanket and goes to his room! Awesome!
