Jalen has been able to look at and name all of the capital letters for a while now, but he is just learning to say the ABC's in order. If you listen closely, turn your speakers up, cock your head to the side and cross your toes... :) ... you can pick out a few of the letters in his song.

Play Day on the Porch
Monday was a wonderful Valentine's Day. The warm weather had us refreshed and excited to enjoy the sunshine. We spent most of the day out on the back porch. OH how I've missed you, screened porch!! Jalen helped me wash the outside of the doors and do the windows. It's amazing how nice weather can even make you want to clean!
After we had worked up a big appetite, we had a picnic lunch on the porch, followed by puzzles and building blocks.
PB&J and Craisins (cranberries)

I hear a choo choo train! That Way! (Mace wants a bite)

Jumperoo
Tess is beginning to figure out how to bounce in her jumperoo. She's not nearly the bouncy baby that Jalen was, but I'm sure she'll still have fun in this thing once she gets the hang of it.
Sorry about all the background noise, and Jalen is sitting on my lap helping narrate.

Gamer
So we have decided to never get Jalen a video game. He is very capable of playing an animal match game on Devan's phone, and even navigating the menu to get to the game on his own. It is a great distraction when we need it, but it is obvious he would sit and play forever if we let him!

Check Up's
Jalen and Tessa both went to meet Dr. McColl last week for their well baby visits. Let me tell you how much fun that was: getting everybody up and ready to leave the house, working our way from the car to the building, waiting in the waiting room, two exams, four shots, and back to the car.... Well it probably wasn't the hardest thing we've done, but it HAS to get easier! Taking trips with these munchkins will wear a Mama out! Luckily, we were the doc's last appts of the day, so they were in no rush, and were very accommodating, even when J heard us discussing potty training and subsequently, had to go potty. Of course! Now let's all go squeeze into the bathroom! No really, it wasn't that bad, Tessa hung out with Ms. Carol, the nurse. So anyway, here are their stats:
J and Tess are both in about the 50% for weight, and 75% for height. Jalen is now 35.5" tall and 28 lbs. Tessa is 24.75" tall and 13 lbs 7 oz. As I said, there were four shots. Jalen had one and it is his last needle until kindergarten shots! (Kindergarten, really?? No, he's not going...I won't let him!) Tess had 3 separate needles; she cried but didn't hold a grudge. Now Jalen acted like we were going to have to amputate his leg. :) He got some Motrin and we watched Mickey when we got home to make it all better!

Tessa's first bite of cereal. I don't think any of it made it past her tongue.
